Music Theatre of Connecticut is the premier provider of theatre performance and training. Founded in 1987, we produce an annual season of five professional productions, six student productions, and a conservatory-style school of theatre with curriculum-based training for students from Pre-K to Grade 12, including a nationally-recognized College Prep program for performance career-focused high school students. The unique synergy between our professionals and students fosters an atmosphere where both achieve full creative potential in a nurturing, non-competitive environment; endowing students with vital life skills of mutual respect, self-confidence, problem solving, and socialization providing fundamentals of success in all professional and personal life paths. 

Community Outreach

MTC partners annually with community and social service organizations to provide free access to professional theater productions, training, and performance opportunities for underserved and economically disadvantaged communities. Current partnerships include the Adam J. Lewis Academy (partially funded by the Kaplan Girls Music Fund), Norwalk Public Schools, Norwalk Housing Authority, and STAR of Norwalk, with past partnerships involving Westport organizations. These programs offer arts education and performance opportunities that might otherwise be financially inaccessible, fostering creativity and developing essential life skills like self-confidence, collaboration, and problem-solving. They are fully funded by MTC through corporate, state, and private support.
