How Does A “Watch Party” Work?

In order to keep the cast and audience safe, The Wizard of Oz - Young Performers Edition will be broadcast in a live streamed special event held on the Zoom video service. Zoom is a video conferencing tool where many people can join a “meeting” and communicate from anywhere across the globe. For the purposes of this show, it will be used as a way to create a virtual theatre in that people who have purchased tickets will be able to view the broadcast in a private and secure setting.

• How do I use Zoom?
  The Watch Party “room” will open an hour before the show and you can join here: https://zoom.us/join. You may be prompted to set up an account with Zoom (this is for security reasons) as well as download their Zoom application. You must do both of these things to watch the show. Please set your Zoom name to the first and last name you put your ticket under followed by your order number. (Ex. John Smith 01374949272)

• What is the Meeting ID and Password?
  Both the Meeting ID and Password will be sent to you via email prior to the Watch Party “room” opening.

• What happens after I join the Watch Party?
  Immediately after you will be put in a “waiting room”. We will be going through each viewer one by one to make sure their name and order number are valid and then admitting them into the Watch Party. Once you have been admitted, you simply need to wait for the show to begin. You may not be admitted if your name and/or order number are not valid.

• How many people can view the Watch Party with one ticket?
  One ticket equals one Zoom account viewing the broadcast. You may only have one Zoom account being used at a time, so, for example, you can’t be watching the broadcast on your iPhone and on your laptop on the same Zoom account as Zoom will not let this happen. In order to do this you’ll need two accounts, each with their own ticket to the Watch Party. Duplicate patrons will not be allowed in the Watch Party unless the ticket buyer has purchased two tickets.

• Will people be able to see or hear me during the Watch Party?
  No. MTC will disable all guests’ audio and video. The only thing you will be able to see or hear is The Wizard of Oz broadcast.

• Can I watch the show more than once?
  Unless you purchase a ticket to both broadcasts, no. However, we will be selling DVD copies of the show for $40. All orders must be made no later than June 21st. Please email order requests to admin@musictheatreofct.com.
